Subjects Taught
Second Grade

I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Ecology PreK-4.

I am so excited to be starting my eleventh year at Harrison Elementary!  I began my teaching career in Kindergarten and did so for four years. I then went and taught fourth grade for one year. This was a great opportunity for me because I was able to have some of my students from my first year teaching Kindergarten in my fourth grade class. I then moved to first grade for a year and moved up with my class the next year to second grade. This will be my fifth year teaching second grade.

I knew when I was in second grade that I wanted to be a teacher. It was during the school year when my family moved states. I remember my first day at my new school like it was yesterday. I opened the door to my brand new classroom, Mrs. Hall's class, and all the children were sitting on the floor in a makeshift Mayflower. Mrs. Hall was such a loving, nurturing, and inspring teacher to have as I started my own new journey at my new school. I knew after spending only a short time with Mrs. Hall that I wanted to do what she did.

I moved to Chattanooga from Germantown, TN to attend UTC which is where I met my husband, Josh. We got married in 2008 and have a very energetic, spunky, and full of life 4 year old daughter, Avalon.

My family loves to travel and go on vacations. Our favorite vacation spot is DisneyWorld and we try and go as often as we can.
