I attended Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, in 2001.

My first year of teaching was with the same first grade class I did my field based III in. I was hired as soon as I graduated and that teacher gave me her position. She taught me a lot more than just routines that year and I will never forget her. My second year, I taught 3rd/4th grade special education. I learned a lot from that class, most of which I still reflect on and use today. It makes me proud when I run into them and we laugh about that year together. My 3rd year to the present day I have been teaching 1st grade. I enjoy my classes every year, watching them grow in so many ways. I have also taught 4 summers of 6th grade reading! All together, this will be my 15th year of teaching and I still love it as much as I did when I first started.

I come from a family of educators. My father is a retired principal and spent 46 years in education. My mother taught special ed. and is now a counselor. My sister and grandmother were both teachers. I moved to Harrison in 2010 when my husband started working at Volkswagen. We have 6 children together, the oldest being 21 and the youngest being 2. My 9 year old daughter will start 4th grade this year at Harrison. My 17 year old daughter just graduated and will attend Chatt. State in the fall. I have been blessed to have my 21 year old son babysit my 2 year old son!
